Grass Valley EDIUS Neo 2 Booster, Affordable Nonlinear Editing for AVCHD, HDV, DV, and More
Featuring a basic, entry-level range of tools and features, our EDIUS® Neo 2 Booster software is ideal for those new to video editing. Yet, it also provides powerful nonlinear editing features common to all EDIUS solutions, such as real-time, multi-track, mixed-format HD/SD editing, chroma keying, titling, and both Blu-ray disc and DVD authoring.
Built on the same highly-acclaimed technology as our EDIUS application, EDIUS Neo 2 Booster software offers native editing of various formats including AVCHD, HDV, DV, Windows Media, and QuickTime—and provides a seamless, real-time workflow that supports mixing all formats within the same timeline. And you can upgrade it to the full-featured EDIUS editing software at any time. For a comparison of our EDIUS NLE Software solutions, visit the NLE Software page.
EDIUS Neo 2 Booster software features a newly developed AVCHD codec engine. Efficient editing is possible while preserving the original image quality, with no loss of resolution or frame rate. Enables real-time playback of three or more streams without special hardware. (Verified in Grass Valley Canopus tests on computers with Core i7 processors.)
EDIUS Neo 2 Booster runs on a laptop as well as a workstation system and can input/output video from any OHCI FireWire (IEEE 1394)-compatible hardware. If you need HDMI and audio monitoring or Blu-ray Disc acceleration support, take a look at the HDSPARK™ and FIRECODER® Blu as options for EDIUS Neo 2 Booster.
No Special Hardware Required
EDIUS Neo 2 Booster does not require any special hardware to work—it can run on a laptop as well as a workstation system, and can input/output video from any OHCI FireWire (IEEE 1394)-compatible hardware.

EDIUS Neo 2 Booster + HDSPARK includes EDIUS Neo 2 Booster NLE software and the HDSPARK hardware board for high-quality synchronous HDMI and analog audio monitoring. EDIUS Neo 2 Booster + FIRECODER Blu includes EDIUS Neo 2 Booster NLE software and the FIRECODER Blu hardware board for high-speed Blu-ray Disc authoring. Whichever configuration you choose, you can always add an HDSPARK or FIRECODER Blu board to your EDIUS Neo 2 Booster system at any time.

Edit with EDIUS Neo 2 Booster Software
While offering a basic, entry-level range of tools and features, EDIUS Neo 2 Booster still provides you with powerful nonlinear editing features that you will find in all Grass Valley EDIUS solutions, such as real-time, multi-track, mixed-format HD/SD editing, chroma keying, titling and both Blu-ray Disc and DVD authoring.
Nonlinear Editing with HDMI and Audio Monitoring
If you need to see your EDIUS Neo 2 Booster projects' output in real time using affordable HDMI monitors, our HDSPARK hardware solution is ideal. This package includes the PCI Express-based HDSPARK board with a full copy of EDIUS Neo 2 Booster and features an HDMI output board for full-resolution, real-time preview monitoring. It also features embedded HDMI audio and separate stereo RCA jacks for high-quality audio monitoring.
Nonlinear Editing Plus Accelerated Blu-ray Encoding
Based on the PCI Express form factor, our FIRECODER Blu board provides accelerated encoding of Blu-ray Disc compatible video sourced from the included EDIUS Neo 2 Booster nonlinear editing software. You can then output its results directly to a Blu-ray Disc or to a Blu-ray compatible file for additional authoring. The FIRECODER Blu board also lets you transcode between H.264 and MPEG-2 formats; it supports 1080i and 720p as well as native 24p Blu-ray formats. It supports up- and down-conversion of SD and HD sources. Moreover, it encodes HD source materials 2X faster than real time and SD source materials 4-5X faster than real time.
